- Bayfield Winter Festival
March 3-5, 2017Enjoy the winter landscape and its seasonal joys at the Bayfield Winter Festival, a 3-day fundraising event that aims to raise enough funds for the Mt. Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area and the Bayfield Area Recreation Center. For this year, the theme is “Celebrating Ice, Snow, and Cabin Fever!” Activities include ice golf, a 5-kilometer winter race called the Mt. - 14th Bayfield in Bloom
May 12 – June 11, 2017In springtime, the blossoms of Bayfield bring color and vibrancy to the town and its surrounding areas. Bayfield in Bloom is a month-long celebration of the advent of spring. Special events and activities for the festival include garden tours and a garden expo. Bayfield in Bloom eventually segues into another highly anticipated event: the Blessing of the Fleet.For more information, click here.

Lake SuperiorBlessing of the Fleet is a longstanding tradition at Bayfield that gathers locals and visitors alike. In this event, water vessels such as powerboats, fishing boats, rowboats, and kayaks are paraded along the City Harbor, where a clergy member from the Apostle Islands waits to bless the boats for safe passage and a great season on Lake Superior.Three days after the blessing of the fleet, a music concert will be held at the Bayfield Presbyterian Church. This concert is part of Bayfield’s Summer Thursday concert series; for the Blessing of the Fleet concert, however, it’s scheduled on a Saturday.

- Fourth of July
July 4, 2017The height of the summer holiday is crowned with the annual Fourth of July celebrations, and the festivities at Bayfield are especially noteworthy. Activities included in the Fourth of July celebrations at Bayfield include a parade on Madeline Island, a fireworks spectacle at Memorial Park, concerts in various parts of the town, as well as the annual Race Week.You’ll find plenty of things to do in Bayfield to celebrate the Fourth of July. - 55th Festival of Arts and Gallery Tour
July 15 and 16, 2017
Memorial ParkEvery year, all manner of artists from all over the Midwest gather in Bayfield for the annual Festival of Arts and Gallery Tour. In the festival, various artworks including photographs, paintings, sculptures, woodwork, pottery, and other crafts will be showcased. Best of all, these are the works of artists who regularly incorporate locally sourced materials found from the Big Lake. - 56th Annual Bayfield Apple Festival
October 6-8, 2017, 10 AM – 5 PM
Lake SuperiorKnown as Bayfield’s most famous festival and recognized by USA Today as one of the best fall harvest festivals in the country, the annual Bayfield Apple Festival shines the spotlight on Bayfield’s rich agricultural heritage and traditions.The three-day event features a variety of family-friendly activities that range from an apple pie and dessert contest and tasting to a kids’ carnival, complete with games and rides. Other prominent festival features include a Grand Parade, food booths showcasing the best apples and apple delicacies and deserts from Bayfield, a fine art exhibition, a traditional fish fry dinner, and many more!

- Hometown Holiday Season
Bayfield during the holidays is all lit up – a sight for sore eyes. Left and right you’ll find celebrations, small-scale or otherwise. Bayfield’s holiday season kicks off with the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, where merrymakers are treated to Christmas carols and warm drinks. A holiday market, Shop Local for the Holidays Night, also sets up shop sometime during the season.
